Using a solid piece for a shower curb offers several advantages:

- Structural Integrity: a solid piece 3/4” thick can support better the weight of shower doors, glass panels and other fixtures to ensure a longer term structural integrity.

-Waterproofing: a solid shower curb acts as a barrier to prevent water from overflowing from the shower area to the adjacent area. Tiling a curb will have grout joints that are prone to water penetration over time, a solid curb piece eliminates this.

-Easier Cleaning & Maintenance: with a smooth continuous surface there are no grout joints where dirt, soap scum, and mold can accumulate.
